The Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, comprised of over 300 food writers, critics, chefs, and restaurateurs, has released its prestigious list of the top 50 restaurants in Asia for 2023. This celebrated ranking, part of the global "World's 50 Best" series, offers a much-needed opportunity for the culinary industry to recognize its accomplishments amidst the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.

The awards ceremony, which took place at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, honored a variety of special achievements. Jakarta's August restaurant, which opened in 2021, received the "One to Watch" award. Johanne Siy, the Philippine-born head chef of Singapore's Lolla, was awarded "Asia's Best Female Chef." Manila's Toyo Eatery took home the Sustainable Restaurant Award, and Louisa Lim from Singapore's Odette secured the title of Asia's Best Pastry Chef.

Bangkok and Singapore led the pack, with nine restaurants from each city making the list. Tokyo followed with seven winning establishments. While the majority of the list features fine dining venues, one street food eatery broke the mold—Bangkok's Michelin-starred Raan Jay Fai, led by chef and owner Supinya "Jay Fai" Junsuta.

The top 10 restaurants in Asia for 2023 are:

Le Du (Bangkok)
