In a heartfelt message released on Sunday, Mann's family disclosed that the 39-year-old's remains were found on Santa Monica Boulevard's 2900 block, approximately a mile from his last known location on November 30, 2021.

"Forensic examinations of dental records confirmed his identity. Presently, we lack comprehensive information regarding the circumstances leading to his demise," the family's communique noted.

"Beau was a radiant individual who dedicated a significant part of his life serving others," the message added. "His uplifting smile and optimistic outlook are sorely missed every day. We believe his spirit endures through Sober Grid, his creation, which continues to assist individuals battling addiction."

Beau Mann established Sober Grid in 2015, providing a platform for those grappling with addiction to stay connected and monitor each other's progress. The platform offers the flexibility of maintaining anonymity or using real identities.

Before his final ride, Mann made a stop at a convenience store close to his workplace around 2 p.m., as per a statement from Sober Grid.

"He dispatched a distress message to emergency services while in the ride-hailing vehicle. He was last seen in Santa Monica. Despite relentless search efforts, no further communication was received from Beau," the statement added.

Sober Grid portrayed Mann as their guiding light.

"Following a personal battle with substance abuse in his younger years, he channeled his energy and devotion towards aiding others. In 2015, he pioneered the first digital platform providing a round-the-clock, global community for individuals in recovery," the statement further elaborated.

According to Sober Grid, their platform has "impacted thousands of lives positively" and will continue to "influence thousands more."
