Meghan Trainor recently expressed regret for her thoughtless statements regarding educators, acknowledging that her words were fueled by her concerns over the increasing number of school shootings in the United States.

The acclaimed musician sparked a debate last week after making derogatory comments about teachers during a conversation about parenting on her podcast, "Workin' On It," which she co-hosts with her brother, Ryan Trainor.

During the episode, Trainor expressed her support for homeschooling her children, citing concerns about safety in American schools. In response to guest Trisha Paytas discussing her negative encounters with teachers and worries about potential bullying, Trainor added an offensive remark about teachers.

Educators were quick to criticize Trainor, including TikTok user @GalsGotMoxie, who expressed disappointment in the 29-year-old celebrity's insensitive and uninformed opinion.

On Sunday, the "Australian Idol" judge addressed her statements in a TikTok video, clarifying that she never meant to dismiss the significance of educators in the school system.

Trainor said, "Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said 'F teachers' on the podcast, and it's not how I feel. I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific. And what all of us have to go through, especially teachers, is not normal and not OK."

Trainor, who is pregnant with her second child, further explained that her comment stemmed from her and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, having been previously bullied by teachers.

She added, "I did not mean that to all teachers. I love teachers, I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job and they are the most underpaid. They are the most unappreciated when they literally raise all of us. I don't want to make excuses, I am just so sorry."

Trainor concluded by promising to be more cautious with her words in the future, recognizing the potential consequences they may have.
