Brandon Vazquez, the 24-year-old FC Cincinnati forward who represented the United States at the youth national level and is also eligible for Mexico, announced that his commitment to the US Men's National Team is "basically done." Vazquez stated that he believes the US team is the best fit for him, and he has not received any contact from the Mexican federation regarding eligibility.

Vazquez earned his first senior call-up to the USMNT in January and scored on his debut against Serbia. He is looking forward to playing against Mexico in the Allstate Continental Clásico. However, Vazquez's club future remains uncertain amid interest from Liga MX club Chivas, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and other European clubs, with no official bids lodged yet.

Vazquez is seeking to fulfill his overseas dream of playing in Europe, but he is uncertain about his next move. He delivered a breakout season with 18 goals and eight assists for Cincy, which brought interest and offers from Liga MX clubs, including a $7 million bid from Chivas, but he rejected them. With Cincinnati finalizing the summer transfer of fellow star forward Brenner, Vazquez's exit may be complicated, but that has not stopped clubs from trying to sway FC Cincinnati.
